Nov. 17, 2012 | 9 AM-1 PM | Room #319
During this 4-hour poverty simulation, participants will be assigned roles to live as a part of a low-income family, and interact with various community resources to obtain basic necessities. Poverty simulation is not a game. It engages participants with tasks and challenges facing low-income families, from parents trying to care for their children to senior members trying to maintain their self-sufficiency. A debriefing discussion will be held at the end of the simulation where participants can share insights gained from this activity. The event is free and lunch will be provided. 4 CEU’s offered. RSVP by Nov. 2, 2012 to Nilou Tohidian at email@example.com. For questions, contact Liang-Ying Chou at firstname.lastname@example.org. Get a glimpse of the poverty simulation in action.
