PsyD in Marital and Family Therapy – This doctoral program encourages students to learn both in the classroom and with hands-on experiences. The amalgamation of theory with practice results in doctors who are able to help clients or patients work through their relationship issues and move towards favorable outcomes.
- EdD in Educational Leadership and Management – A Doctor of Education program that seeks to produce the next generation of leaders and innovators in the world of education. The graduates of this program exit our halls prepared to be “agents of change” in educational organizations around the world.
EdD in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) – In such a diverse society, there’s a constant need for caring, patient, and instructional teachers of second languages. The EdD in TESOL San Diego program unites modern theory with modern practices, so that graduates are prepared to help others find their voice. Our TESOL certification in San Diego allows you to gain your accreditation in a diverse and supportive environment.
MAE in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages – A Master’s of Arts in Education program that gives ESOL teachers advanced theories and practices they need to break down barriers and then build bridges. MS in Data Analytics – A Master’s of Science in Data Analytics that can be achieved in class or online. It gives our graduates the statistical modeling, in-depth analysis, forecasting, and operational problem-solving tools they need to “master the machine.”
MS in Healthcare Analytics – Instructs college students on the seemingly endless roles and occupations that buttress the healthcare system, and trains them how to use analytics to optimize the system. This course produces professionals who are able to be efficient cogs within the massive healthcare machine.
PhD in Leadership – A doctoral course created by both the California School of Management and Leadership and the California School of Professional Psychology, which unites theoretical, strategic, and organizational studies to better understand the philosophy and psychology undergirding leadership. This is yet another one of our programs that seeks to produce “agents of change.”
The Law School is one of the first law schools to be accredited by the State Bar of California and has had continuous accreditation since 1937. Students at San Diego Law School are instructed in all subjects tested on the California Bar Examination.

James Adams PhD, Associate Professor & Program Director - Dr. Adams has a Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.), in Educational Psychology. Dr. Adams is an Associate Professor and the System-wide Program Director for the online Psy.D. Educational Psychology program.
Dr. Adams has worked in community mental health settings, private practice and in public schools in California. Furthermore, Dr. Adams is a Licensed Educational Psychologist (LEP), a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC). Additionally, Dr. Adams is a Diplomate in School Neuropsychology from the American Board of School Neuropsychology. He holds two Clear Pupil Personnel Services Credentials - School Psychology and School Counseling in the State of California. He also has a clear credential in school administration in the State of California.
Carolyn Allard PhD, Program Director and Associate Professor – Dr. Allard is a licensed psychologist, and a well-known researcher and speaker. As the program director, Dr. Allard focuses her research on the effects of interpersonal trauma versus non-interpersonal trauma.
Dr. Allard has her Board Certification in Clinical Psychology from the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP). Prior to Alliant, she spent more than a decade acting as program director of the Military Sexual Trauma & Interpersonal Trauma Clinic and San Diego Advanced Fellowship in Women's Health at the Veteran's Affairs San Diego Healthcare System. She has written and co-authored several books, articles, and papers, and has been interviewed for her expertise on both television and radio.
Rene Naert PhD, Program Director, Undergrad ASM – The program director of Alliant’s MBA program, Dr. Naert has spent more than two decades in education program development, delivery, and administrative experience. He is a beloved professor who focuses on systems analytics, teaching courses such as networks management, internet and web development, and information systems applications.
As president of KinderView.com, Dr. Naert has done extensive consulting work with enterprise companies. He has worked as a systems analyst, curriculum developer, and systems engineer, and holds several degrees.
Liana Abascal PhD, Associate Professor – A clinical psychologist that maintains both a private practice as well as a busy teaching schedule. Dr. Abascal teaches statistics, health psychology, and research methods.
For nearly two decades, she has been heavily involved in clinical and research work on a variety of health-related topics, including eating disorders, obesity, diabetes, and chronic disease prevention. As such, she has held roles with the Behavioral Diabetes Institute as well as the UCSD Eating Disorders Center, and the Rady Children’s Hospital.
