Morgan Sammons, PhD, ABPP, will visit Alliant’s San Francisco campus on February 23 to address clinical PhD and PsyD students on regulatory changes and associated developments that are impacting professional psychologists today. The presentation is hosted by CSPP’s Clinical Psychology PhD program and will take place at 5:00 PM in room 206.

Sammons will also address new standards of accreditation presented by APA and their implications for graduate studies and professional preparationd. Trends in licensure, mobility and accreditation will be covered with an eye towards concrete steps graduate students can take to ensure maximum preparedness upon entering the professional environment.

Sammons is the executive officer of the National Register of Health Service Psychologists and a former dean of CSPP. He has a long history of leadership and advocacy in the profession. He is a retired captain in the us navy, having served as the navy’s clinical psychology specialty leader, special assistant to the navy surgeon general for mental health and traumatic brain injury, and in a number of positions both in the US and abroad. He is one of the first graduates of the department of defense’s psychopharmacology demonstration project.
