Happy National Career Development Month! (Free Webinar Series from NCDA)
The National Career Development Association (NCDA) celebrates National Career Development Month every November. This 47-year old tradition invites all career development professionals to join the celebration by promoting career related activities and events! This year, the theme is “Charting the Course for the Second Century.” During this time, individuals of all ages are encouraged to think about how their career may develop as they enter the next century. From a counselor’s perspective, this type of career exploration will allow for a deeper understanding into how clients conceptualize their future. What are your career goals today? How do you see your skills, abilities and values developing over time? Do you believe that your career and personal goals will align? The goal is start thinking about how this ever-changing society will impact a client’s career and life path. This process promotes self-awareness and can eventually help clients develop more fulfilling career goals. It may also offer clients insight into how they would like to contribute to society later in life. Helping a client map out their journey will increase their confidence and empower their future success!
