Here at Alliant International University we pride ourselves on diversity and inclusion. Our students, domestic and international alike, graduate with a culturally rich experience and we wouldn’t have it any other way. California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP) alumnus James Taylor, Ph.D. shares Alliant’s vision.

Dr. Taylor, who earned both his doctorate and master’s degree in organizational psychology from CSPP in San Francisco, has just been selected as the new chief diversity and inclusion officer at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC).

“I am looking forward to working with some of the brightest minds in the industry to illustrate the direct link between health care outcomes, workforce productivity and community engagement to issues of culture and diversity,” said Taylor in an interview with the New Pittsburgh Courier.

Taylor is not the only one embracing his new role. UPMC Executive vice president and chief administration officer Greg Peaslee is proud to welcome Taylor to the team. “His proven knowledge and commitment to diversity and inclusion will allow UPMC to continue to grow as a health-care provider that creates an inclusive environment for employees and patients alike,” he said.

While Taylor is passionate about his work and its societal impact, he also serves his community by dedicating himself to several philanthropic efforts. Taylor serves as a board member for the National Diversity Council, the Urban League of Central Coalitions, and the International Institute for Diversity and Cross Cultural Management.

Just like we pride ourselves on our diversity, we also pride ourselves on the success and achievements of all our graduates. We are particularly proud of alumni who use their education to give back to the community, furthering our mission to impact the welfare of individuals, families, organizations and communities across the globe.
