Biography

Dr. Andrew Hoeffler is originally from Fall Church Virginia. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force immediately after high school and was trained as a photojournalist. He began his career in healthcare upon cross-training to become a flight medic for the Air Force. Dr. Hoeffler worked as a flight medic for the USAF reserve and as a paramedic in the private sector until graduating from nursing school in 2000. He worked as a registered nurse in the private sector and in the reserves until he re-entered active duty in 2005. In 2006 Dr. (then Captain) Hoeffler was deployed to Iraq to work in one of the busiest field hospitals in county. In 2009 he was accepted to the Family Nurse Practitioner program at the Uniformed Services University, where he graduated with a Master's in Nursing Science in 2011. He completed his Doctor of Nursing Practice at Northern Arizona University in 2015. In 2019, after 34 years of service, Dr. (then Major) Hoeffler retired from the USAF, and entered private practice. In 2021, Dr. Hoeffler took a position as assistant professor of nursing at Brookline College in Phoenix, AZ. He began working at Alliant International University in September of 2023 at the School of Nursing and Health Sciences in Phoenix.

Dr. Hoeffler is married (to a nurse) and has 5 children, 3 of whom live at home.
