Yes. Graduates will be well-prepared to sit for the BCBA exam administered by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB), having gained foundational knowledge in behavioral principles, ethics, assessment, intervention, supervision, and research methods, delivered through a client-centered, culturally responsive lens. Our program meets the behavior-analytic coursework requirements for those pursuing the BCBA pathway 2 eligibility route.
What support services are available?
Students benefit from academic advising, career guidance, and networking opportunities through Alliant's dedicated support resources.
Is financial aid available?
Yes. Alliant offers a range of financial aid options, including scholarships, grants, and federal student loans. The Financial Aid Office provides personalized support.
Who should enroll in the MS in ABA?
This program is ideal for behavior technicians, special education teachers, and other professionals looking to become Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and provide ABA services, particularly to individuals with autism. It's also suited for those who already hold a master’s degree and need the required coursework to qualify for the BCBA exam.
What career opportunities are available?
Graduates may provide ABA services in clinics, schools, homes, and hospitals. Upon passing the national certification exam (and meeting state licensure requirements, if applicable), they can conduct assessments, design intervention programs, and supervise others to deliver ABA services to individuals, as well as their families and caregivers.
When does the program start?
There are two enrollment periods for the applied behavior analysis program: August and January. See our academic calendar here. Make sure to review the program requirements for more information.
How long does it take to complete the program?
The applied behavior analysis program is a 45-credit program and takes a minimum of three years to complete.
What are the requirements to be eligible to sit for national certification?
To be eligible to sit for the national certification, students need three things: a master's degree, coursework that meets the Behavior Analyst Certification Board’s requirements, and supervised fieldwork. Coursework and fieldwork may be completed separately. Many students are able to receive supervision through the ABA organizations where they work. As we do not currently offer supervision, we are currently providing coursework only. We plan to offer supervised fieldwork as the program grows.
