Degree Information
BSG Award Winners
As a part of your capstone project, you’ll compete in the Business Strategy Game (BSG) virtual simulation project competition, and over the past several years—including the most recent competition—we are proud to have had multiple winners.
In the BSG competition, students work in small teams to run an athletic footwear company in head-to-head global competition against student teams from universities throughout the world. Just as in the real-world, these companies compete in a global market arena, selling branded and private-label athletic footwear in four geographic regions—Europe-Africa, North America, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America.
Company co-managers must make decisions relating to plant operations, distribution and warehouse operations, workforce compensation, online sales at the company’s website, sales and marketing, and finance. The challenge is to craft and execute a competitive strategy that results in a respected brand image, keeping the company in contention for global market leadership, and produces good financial performance as measured by earnings per share, return on investment, stock price appreciation, and credit rating.
This competition provides these students invaluable experience in all aspects of running a business and teaches them how to plan, react to change, and work together to build a successful company in a way that directly translates to the real-world opportunities and we are proud to have had so many past winners of this competition.
