Ingrid Coke

Biography

Dr. Ingrid Coke is a Math Facilitator, adjunct professor, and professional development leader with more than 20 years of experience in teaching and instructional leadership. She has served as a middle and high school teacher, school-based math coach, and district curriculum facilitator, supporting educators in enhancing mathematics instruction and student learning. Dr. Coke is an active member of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) and serves as a Secondary Learning Leader with a statewide teacher development organization, designing and facilitating professional learning experiences for educators.

She teaches Content Knowledge and Instructional Practice V: Math Pedagogy and 21st Century Approaches, preparing beginning and experienced teachers to strengthen content knowledge and apply innovative teaching practices. Dr. Coke has presented at regional and national conferences and led numerous workshops focused on problem solving, mathematical reasoning, and equitable instruction.

Her professional interests focus on mathematics pedagogy, teacher professional growth, and equitable teaching practices. She explores how collaborative learning, problem solving, and culturally responsive approaches deepen students’ mathematical understanding and engagement. Dr. Coke enjoys cooking, reading, traveling, and spending time at the beach, where she finds balance and inspiration.

Biography

I have been in education for twenty-four years, teaching every age, from infants to doctoral students. My experience includes working with a range of learning abilities and needs including those within the General Education classroom, Special Education, English Language Learners, and Gifted & Talented. My degrees include a BS in Interdisciplinary Studies, M. Ed with a focus in General Education, and an Ed. D in Early Childhood Education. 

I enjoy attending professional development and researching many topics, such as diverse literacy practices and DEI in the classroom.

Biography

Dr. Adrian Zappala holds over 25 years of experience in Education, having served in teaching and leadership roles in both P-12 and higher education, across all modalities, including on-campus, hybrid, and online. He is truly honored to have had the opportunity to impact the lives of many, as education is the key to success. His academic background is diverse and intersects with fields such as teaching, educational leadership, organizational leadership and management, and post-secondary education.

Tanya MacMartin

Biography

Dr. Tanya MacMartin has been a university professor and a middle school science teacher for more than 20 years. She specializes in STEM education for students of all ages and has developed and implemented hands-on science instruction and experiences for all students with all abilities. She strives to support teachers with best practices for inclusive environments in both K-12 and higher education. She has served on several leadership panels and is passionate about making STEM curricula accessible to the diverse population of students in all grades.  

Dr. MacMartin enjoys creating a curriculum that encourages students to choose their own passions and paths to learning. She leads and collaborates with all educators to design a learning experience that harnesses students’ strengths and interests yet supports standards-aligned content and practices.

Cynthia Pancer

Biography

Dr. Pancer is experienced in both business and educational leadership, and served as the Vice President of Education for many companies, as well as a public school principal and founder of a preschool. Most recently she founded an online K-12 school--a free public charter school that uses the Internet to connect teachers with students who study at home. Dr. Pancer's background includes 20 years of designing educational software, and working with schools around the country to make technology integral to both teaching and learning. She is fascinated with all types of technologies, and all levels of learners, from preschoolers who use digital cameras to record a science project such as potatoes sprouting or guppies giving birth, to high school students who use the Internet to help explorers climb Mt. Everest, or help scientists find the keys to longevity in Okinawa. Dr. Pancer is especially interested in projects that connect students with adults or other children who share their interests and passions for learning, but who do not share the same location, culture, or even language.

Peter Byun

Biography

Dr. Peter Byun graduated with a Ph.D. in Linguistics with a focus on second language acquisition (SLA) from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign after he received his two MA's in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) and in linguistics from the same university. He taught various groups of English Language Learners and Korean language learners as well as TESOL master and doctoral students. He also worked as an ESOL coordinator in a preservice teacher education program and developed various TESL/TEFL certificate and master programs. His research interests include input, interaction, output, automaticity, and authenticity in SLA, and the development of TESOL/TEFL programs.
