Katy Brant, SPHR-CA

Human Resources Manager, Wyndham Destinations

Katy Brant  is a professional with over 14 years of progressive human resources experience. Katy has supported multiple industries including Consumer Electronics, Government Contracting, Manufacturing, and Hospitality. Katy is experienced in and enjoys multiple focus areas of human resources, with her two favorites being leadership development and M&A activity. Katy completed some of her human resources studies at California State University, San Marcos. She and her family enjoy supporting local sport teams, and she is often found shooting hoops with her son in their free time. 


Khaled Haled El-Maleh, PhD

Senior Director of Technology, Qualcomm

Khaled El-Maleh is a senior director of technology in the IP department of Qualcomm. He leads the multimedia technology team and related multimedia and user experience IP strategy areas. Dr. El-Maleh’s areas of expertise and interests include: design, implementation and quality evaluation of mobile multimedia systems, data analytics/mining, human-computer interfaces, computer vision applications, innovation and industry-university technology transfer. He is a technologist and strategist with focus on entrepreneurship and Innovation. He is an accomplished inventor with more than 200 US and international patents. He was awarded the Qualcomm Career Thought Leadership award in 2009, and the IP Department 2013 Distinguished Contributor award.


Brett Garcia, MBA

Pharmacy Manager, Kaiser Permanente

Brett Garcia is a pharmacy manager for Kaiser Permanente. He has more than twenty years of experience in the healthcare industry serving in various roles in member services, call center, and department of psychiatry. Brett earned his MBA in healthcare management at the University of Phoenix.


Randy Holloway, JD

Director of Infrastructure & Cloud Solutions, Microsoft

Randy Holloway is a business leader with experience in enterprise software and cloud computing with 15+ years of proven capability in driving revenue growth, competing to win in new businesses and market segments, building customer loyalty and developing leaders. He has extensive enterprise IT leadership experience as an executive manager driving business transformation in partnership with senior business leaders. Randy Holloway serves as director, Infrastructure and cloud solutions at Microsoft and is responsible for sales, technical services and deployment of Microsoft hybrid cloud technologies for the western US and US public sector. Randy has worked at Microsoft for the past nine years, and during his tenure has led teams focused on datacenter solutions and technical strategy and worked with many of the company’s largest enterprise customers. Prior to joining Microsoft, Randy was the director of enterprise applications for HASCO International, a photography and marketing services company serving over two million customers annually.


Nancy Mancilla, MPS, MA

CEO and Co-Founder, ISOS Group

Nancy Mancilla leads a business she co-founded in 2008 to train and guide corporate professionals in sustainability reporting. As CEO and co-founder of the ISOS Group, Nancy has led several initiatives in the sustainability area. About 3,000 people have taken the training and in the process learned about stakeholder engagement; the materiality process; greenhouse-gas accounting and verification; the U.N.’s sustainable development goals; sustainable management systems; and the value of nonfinancial disclosure. ISOS Group helps businesses, governments and other organizations understand and communicate their impacts associated with climate change, human rights and corruption, for example. After completing her education, she went to Hamburg to work with a refugee resettlement agency and participate in a youth exchange sponsored by the Congress of the United States and Germany’s Bundestag. She is chair for the Ratings and Rankings Committee of the Corporate Responsibility Officer Association, and the chair for the Alumni Board of the Cultural Vistas.


Ted St. Martin, MBA, CPA

Chief Financial Officer, Dart NeuroScience

Ted St. Martin has more than 15 years of leadership in the life-science industry and has served numerous biotechnology and life science organizations with various activities, including mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings and private equity financings. From September 2007 to October 2010, Mr. St. Martin served as controller for Phenomix Corporation, a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company. While at Phenomix, Mr. St. Martin was responsible for managing the overall accounting function, including financial reporting, internal controls, and collaboration accounting and participated in filing the company’s initial public offering documents in 2008. Prior to his tenure at Phenomix, Mr. St. Martin was the controller at GeneOhm Sciences, a molecular diagnostics company, where he participated in a Series C round of venture financing, the acquisition of Infectio Diagnostics, Inc., and the subsequent acquisition of GeneOhm in 2006 by Becton Dickinson for $255 million. He received a B.S. in accounting from Purdue University, an executive MBA from San Diego State University and an executive certificate in the business of life sciences from the Kelly School of Business at Indiana University. He is a certified public accountant with the State of California and a member of the Association of Bioscience Financial Officers.


Captain Richard K. McCarthy

NAVWAR 2.0A, Deputy Director of Contracts, San Diego

Captain Richard K. McCarthy, SC, USN, is the director of the navy regional plant equipment office. He is responsible for west coast operations of an Echelon II system level organization that provides full spectrum, acquisitions and logistics support for critical Navy and high priority programs. He manages over $500 million in annual expenditures and leads a staff of 65 acquisition professionals with functional expertise in contracting, finance, cost estimating, security, legal, information technology, cyber-security, and human resources. A native of Irvine, California, Captain McCarthy graduated from the United States Naval Academy with a bachelor of science degree and a minor in Spanish and earned masters of science degrees in contracting and acquisitions management from Naval Advisory Board Postgraduate School in National Resource Strategy from the Industrial College of the armed forces. 


Ash Mehta, MBA

CEO, PatientClick, Inc.

Ashish Mehta, is the CEO of PatientClick, Inc., a web-based TeleMedicine, electronic health record and practice management system. He also serves as business advisor and EIR with CONNECT San Diego, and is an active advisory board member with the California State University San Marcos MBA program. He is the founder of Zodiac Infotech LLC, a global information technology and business back office solution provider. He has been involved with international business consulting for international economic development initiatives with the State of OH and Government of India, primarily focused on sectors like renewable energy, immigrant entrepreneurship, and technology transfer. Mr. Mehta is a chemical engineer by training with a master’s in business administration. 


Richa Nand, JD

Principal and Founder, Insight Patents

Ms. Richa Nand is an intellectual property attorney and business advisor. She is principal and founder of Insight Patents, a law practice advising technology companies on strategies for sustainable competitive advantage. Insight Patents offers subscription based intellectual property and general counsel services as part of an innovative team based model. Previously, she was vice-president of intellectual property and licensing at Cytori Therapeutics and vice-president of corporate development and legal at Bird Rock Bio, both in San Diego. She began her legal career at Orrick Herrington and Sutcliffe in Silicon Valley and Lahive and Cockfield in Boston. Ms. Nand received a B.S. in microbiology and molecular genetics from UCLA and a J.D. from Boston University School of Law.

Danita Neville is a recruiter and talent search professional for Wyndham Destinations. She has more than twenty years of experience in the hospitality industry and specializes in operations management and recruitment. Danita is passionate about work culture, and career development. She holds a bachelor of science degree from UNLV in hospitality management. 


Tamer Salameh, DBA

CEO-Strategic Management/Information Adviser and Coach

Tamer Salameh is a practitioner of strategic management, organizational development, and strategic information systems. He continues to be a student and holds a BSc. in business administration, MSc. in management and organizational development, MBA in management, DBA in strategic management (first-class honors), plus post-doctorate in strategic information from Alliant (formerly USIU). He has over 25 years of experience and expertise in strategic management and strategic information systems theory practice from a humanistic perspective, using coaching, training, consulting, research, and development that lead to implementation plans.

Since 1995, Tim has focused on building PSP to help customers improve their personal and professional development programs. He has provided keynote addresses, developmental workshops and consulting services to corporate, government, military, education, and public-service organizations in over 20 countries. He is the author or co-author of several experiential training programs including: the Have a Nice Conflict Learning Experience, and Becoming a Leader We Need with Strategic Intelligence.
