Nicole Ing
Biography

Nicole Ing, JD, is an Adjunct Professor at Alliant International University teaching Juvenile Law. She received her law degree from California Western School of Law in 2013, with an Honors Concentration in Criminal Prosecution and Defense Practice. Upon graduation, she joined the San Diego Office of the Public Defender and has been there ever since. She began her career on the Central Misdemeanor Unit and then transitioned to the Juvenile Division. In addition to carrying a standard caseload, she represented minors in several specialty court calendars. In 2017, she transitioned from juvenile practice to felony practice. While on a felony team, she represented clients charged with various crimes ranging from burglary to homicide. Recently, she joined the Fresh Start Unit where she works on post-conviction relief. She has completed dozens of jury and bench trials. 

While she is passionate about criminal defense, her experience representing minors was career changing. It informed her practice in a way that is invaluable to her current adult practice. Her professional interests include the intersection between adolescent brain development, childhood trauma, and juvenile defense; mental health; trial and mitigation work.
