San Diego, CA: Alliant International University has announced that the Center Forensic Studies has been renamed the California School of Forensic Studies (CSFS). CSFS now takes a place alongside Alliant's three other professional schools as part of a university dedicated to professional education in psychology, education, management and related disciplines. "The mission of CSFS is to provide communities, courts, and law enforcement organizations with well-trained forensic professionals in an increasingly diverse environment", Alliant President Geoffrey M. Cox said. "It will also expand the range of educational options for our students. Under the leadership of Dean Eric Hickey, CSFS is set to become the school of choice for top students and faculty from around the world to pursue highly specialized forensic studies training."

"We've added several new components to our forensic program lately that provide students with incredible opportunities," Dean Eric Hickey said, "but we won't stop there. We are expanding our international programs to include study options in Hong Kong, Singapore, Manila and Mexico City. We'll add these programs to our existing international program sites that include Italy and South Africa. Further, we intend to expand areas of forensic specialization to accommodate the demand from both students and our communities."

Currently CSFS offers a doctor of philosophy (Ph.D.) in forensic psychology at the Fresno campus and a doctor of forensic psychology (Psy.D.) at the Fresno, Irvine, Los Angeles, Sacramento, San Diego, and San Francisco campuses. CSFS also runs the Sex Crimes and Paraphilia Institute (SCPI), based in Fresno, and the Institute on Violence, Abuse and Trauma (IVAT) based in San Diego. Both institutes offer research opportunities for students and staff of the School.

Alliant International University is a private, certified public benefit corporation California university of higher learning accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
