Program Information

Transform Your Experience Into Expertise, and Your Expertise Into Educational Leadership

The Administrative Services Credential, whether taken with the optional MAE in Educational Administration, includes three courses of research and field experience that serve to both meet CAL APA requirements and round out your education with practical training that best prepares you for a new career as an educational administrator. These courses are known as the Leadership Cycles and cover the following topics: Analyzing Data to Inform School Improvement and Promote Equity, Facilitating Communities of Practice, and Supporting Teacher Growth. Each of the three Leadership Cycle courses cover an aspect of professional practice in this field that cannot simply be taught via classroom instruction, and will ask each student to Investigate, Plan, Act, and Reflect as a way to help grow themselves into an exemplary administrator.

Frequently Asked Questions

The career outlook for graduates of this program is promising. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports an expected 8% increase in educational administration positions over the next 7 years—or a volume of roughly 20,000 new jobs that will need to be filled in that time frame. Most of these positions will be as principals, vice principals, and administrators at elementary, middle, and high schools across the country. Employment growth will be affected by student enrollment and the number of educational institutions, as there are a limited number of principal positions available per school. But, if student enrollment increases as projected, more schools will open, which will increase demand for graduates of this program.

As you would expect, graduates of the Administrative Services Credential program will often end up in administration roles at the elementary-, middle-, and high-school levels—positions such as principal, vice principal, provost, or dean.

Private and public scholarships can help you meet the cost of your education. Alliant International University is pleased to be able to offer a significant number of institutional scholarships to many of our students.
