Dr. Robert Jackson to be Inducted into a Prestigious Mexican Academic Academy

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – July 3, 2012 – logo of the Academia Nacional de Historia y GeografiaDr. Robert Jackson, program director at the California School of Management & Leadership in Mexico City, will be inducted into the Academia Nacional De Historia y Geografía, on July 5, 2012. He is being recognized for his substantial academic record and contributions, and joins just a handful of annual inductees.

Dr. Jackson has written, edited, or co-edited eleven academic books, and more than 60 articles and book chapters in refereed professional journals and academic books. Additionally, he has two books currently in press to be published by one of the oldest academic publishing houses in Europe, Brill Academic Publishers. The first is, Conflict and Conversion in Sixteenth Century Central Mexico: The Augustinian War On and Beyond the Chichimeca Frontier, which examines the first missionaries in central Mexico during the sixteenth century and their approach to evangelization. The second is, Demographic Change and Ethnic Survival on the Jesuit Mission Frontiers of Spanish South America, 1609-1803, a study of demographic patterns of the seventeenth and eighteenth century Jesuit missions from Paraguay and the Chiquitos region of eastern Bolivia.

The Academia Nacional de Historia y Geografía is a Mexican academy for science in the service of humanity and is sponsored by the Universidad Nacional Auton oma de Mexico, the largest and most important public university in Mexico.
