Alliant is proud to partner with the Kaiser Permanente Mental Health Scholars Academy to help Kaiser employees earn degrees and pursue difference-making careers. In this episode of IMPACTful Conversations, Alliant president Andy Vaughn speaks with Dan Gizzo, PhD, a clinical psychologist, Alliant alum, and executive director of the Academy. They discuss the importance of addressing mental health stigma and the intersection of mental and physical health. Dr. Gizzo shares insights on the challenges faced by mental health professionals, the significance of values in healthcare, and the role of technology in training future clinicians. The conversation highlights the need for a diverse workforce in mental health and the ongoing efforts to support individuals pursuing careers in this field.

About Andy Vaughn

Dr. Andy Vaughn has served as the President and CEO of Alliant International University since 2015. Before joining Alliant, he served as the President, CEO, and COO of Trident University, California. He started his career in higher education at National University in San Diego and has served in various roles at institutions including Regional Dean, President and CEO, COO, Vice President of Marketing and Admissions, and Associate Director of Student Services, among others. He currently serves on two separate boards including as a member of the Board of Directors for St. Luke and Central Valley Education Consortium. Dr. Vaughn completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, his graduate degree at National University in San Diego, and his doctoral degree at the University of Southern California.
