Shamiron Bales
Biography

Dr. Shamiron Bales is a licensed psychologist and founder of Bales Psychology Clinic (BPC), a San Diego-based private practice specializing in comprehensive psychological evaluations across the lifespan, with a focus on developmental assessments for autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, and related concerns. She completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology at UC San Diego, followed by a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP), San Diego. Her postdoctoral training emphasized complex diagnostic testing for children, adolescents, and adults (ages 2 to 45), addressing a wide range of concerns including neurodevelopmental disorders, mood and personality disorders, and learning differences.

Dr. Bales has a research interest in child social development. Her dissertation explored hormonal imprinting and the role of oxytocin in early relational experiences. She continues to pursue research interests through supervision and mentorship, supporting doctoral students in psychological assessment and study design. As a faculty member at CSPP San Diego, she teaches Human Development and Intellectual Assessment and is invested in student growth, both academically and professionally. At BPC, she also oversees training and supervision for student clinicians, helping bridge theory and practice through real-world evaluation experience.
