Biography
Dr. Ryan Carter is a counseling educator committed to preparing the next generation of student‑centered, data‑informed, and equity‑driven school counselors. With more than 20 years of experience in public education, he has served as a program coordinator, school counselor, teacher, instructional consultant, and educational leader across diverse Bay Area school communities.
In addition to his work in K–12 settings, Dr. Carter is a research fellow with the Center for Innovation in Applied Education Policy (IAEP) at San José State University. His published scholarship examines the relationship between educators’ beliefs and their professional practice, the implementation of multi-tiered support frameworks (MTSS, MTMDSS) and effective strategies for supporting at‑promise youth.
Dr. Carter holds a master’s degree in Counseling and a doctorate in Educational Leadership.
