Biography
Dr. Chiurazzi has been on core faculty at Alliant International University for 16 years and currently serves as associate program director for the PhD Psychology, Public Policy and Law program at the California School of Forensic Studies (CSFS). She is a graduate of the California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP) clinical PsyD program at Alliant International University, Fresno Campus. She has taught courses for both CSFS and CSPP and currently focuses on supporting students’ dissertation research.
Prior to teaching at Alliant International University, Dr. Chiurazzi worked for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation as a clinician, administrator, and Chief of Mental Health at institutional and headquarters levels. She has extensive experience with clinical interventions with violent offenders, suicide risk management, policy implementation and quality improvement in collaboration with federal court oversight and establishing and supporting effective relationships in interdisciplinary teams. Dr. Chiurazzi retired from CDCR after serving as Director of the Department’s state-wide mental health program.
