Biography
Dr. Corrine McIntosh Sako (she/her) is a licensed psychologist and licensed marriage and family therapist. Born and raised in Sacramento, she has over 20 years of experience helping people with a range of presenting issues, from situational stressors to severe mental health concerns. She has specialized training treating anxiety disorders (Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Panic Disorder, Social Anxiety, Specific Phobias, etc.) using Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), including Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy (ERP). Dr. Sako is also a fierce community mental health advocate. She is an appointed member of the Sacramento County Behavioral Health Commission, she serves on the California Psychological Association’s Local Advocacy Network, and she consults and collaborates with numerous community organizations. Dr. Sako shows up and speaks out on the impact of systemic and structural oppression on mental health, at the individual and the collective levels. She is passionate in her work to eliminate mental health disparities, decriminalize mental illness, and transform systems of care so that health equity is experienced by all.
