Biography
Dr. Ayrin L. Hnosko, PhD, MSW, LCSW, is an Assistant Professor in the Master of Social Work program at Alliant University and a licensed clinical social worker with extensive experience in clinical practice, school-based mental health, trauma-responsive care, and social work education. Her professional work spans direct clinical practice, clinical supervision, crisis intervention, family and community engagement, and the development of comprehensive mental health and social-emotional supports within educational settings.
Dr. Hnosko’s teaching and professional interests center on trauma and resilience, mental health, crisis intervention, social-emotional development, and the integration of clinical social work practice within schools and communities. She is particularly interested in translating research and theory into practical, accessible approaches that strengthen individuals, families, professionals, and the systems that serve them. Her current work includes the development of school-based social-emotional learning and mental health programming, trauma-responsive professional development, and initiatives designed to improve access to resources and supports for children and families.
In addition to her academic work, Dr. Hnosko is a Certified Social Work Clinical Supervisor, New Jersey Certified School Social Worker, and Nurtured Heart Approach® Certified Trainer. Across her roles as an educator, clinician, supervisor, and school mental health professional, she is committed to preparing social workers to approach practice with compassion, critical thinking, cultural responsiveness, and a strong commitment to meaningful systems-level change.
