Congratulations to Dr. Angela Kim, core faculty member in Alliant’s California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP) in San Diego, who was awarded $11,199 from the State of California/Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development’s (OSHPD) Healthcare Workforce Development Division to support the Academic and Career Fair for Success.

The career fair provides Asian American, in particular Southeast Asian American, at-risk youth (middle and high school students) from economically and educationally disadvantaged backgrounds with an opportunity to participate in a health career fair and gain exposure to the various health professions in which they are currently underrepresented. Dr. Sesen Negash, core faculty member of CSPP in San Diego, will assist Dr. Kim, serving as the program coordinator. They will partner with the Union of Pan Asian Communities to promote and host the fair.

This is a great effort on the part of Dr. Kim to bridge many of Alliant's missions—in particular, serving under-served groups and partnering with the local community to promote mental health careers and education.
