SAN DIEGO, Calif. -- June 4, 2013 -- Congratulations to Maria A. Nava, PsyD, winner of the 2013 San Diego Outstanding Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Forensic Psychology Award!

Outstanding degree awards are given out on the San Diego campus to one exceptional student in each program, selected by program faculty. Nava received the award during a graduation reception for her program and was recognized at the San Diego commencement ceremony on Friday, May 24, 2013.

Nava is currently finishing an internship with Avanza, Monterey County Children’s Behavioral Health’s Transition Age Youth program, where she provides various forms of bilingual therapy, intensive case management and outreach to at-risk youth.

Avanza has created a post-doctoral position with Monterey County Behavioral Health, Children’s Mental Health Services for Nava, which she will begin in July upon completion of her internship hours.
