California School of Professional Psychology’s Fresno Clinical Psychology Ph.D. Program Given Highest Level of Re-Accreditation by the American Psychological Association (APA)

San Diego, California— The California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP) at Alliant International University’s clinical psychology Ph.D. degree program at its Fresno campus has just received a 10-year re-accreditation by the American Psychological association (APA)— the highest level of re-accreditation offered by the association.

Each of Alliant’s nine clinical psychology doctoral programs is accredited by the APA’s Commission on Accreditation. The Fresno program is the latest to have received the maximum re-accreditation. APA awards accreditation based on program performance. The accreditors review the curriculum, training opportunities, faculty credentials, and program resources. They also look at outcomes such as time to completion, attrition rates, and graduates’ success in attaining licensure. Another important outcome is students’ success in gaining internships. For 2017/18, 91% of Fresno’s Clinical Psychology Ph.D. students were placed in APA-accredited internships, and 9% were placed in Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers (APPIC) member internships.

“This re-accreditation further highlights the exceptional efforts of our Fresno program’s expert faculty and staff and the quality of education and hands-on training that our Clinical Psychology students receive,” said CSPP Dean Dalia Ducker, Ph.D. “CSPP was the first independent school dedicated to professional psychology, and this news highlights the fact that we are also the future of professional psychology—we couldn’t be more proud of continuing this legacy on the eve of CSPP’s 50th anniversary.”

Questions related to a program’s accredited status should be directed to the Commission on Accreditation:
