Faculty Spotlight - Debbie GlaserFor 26 years, Dr. Debbi Glaser worked for the LAPD, spending nine of those years as their chief police psychologist. She was also one of the first psychologists to become a Board Certified Specialist in police and public safety psychology.
Now an Assistant Professor at the California School of Forensic Studies (CSFS), Dr. Glaser left the world of the LAPD and joined CSFS’ faculty in 2008. She teaches Advanced Social Psychology, Psychological Consultation and Crisis Negotiation at the Los Angeles campus. A result of her experience in the field, her research focuses on first responders, stalking and workplace violence assessment.
During the 2011-2012 school year, Dr. Glaser provided some of her forensic psychology students with an exclusive opportunity to attend a presentation put on by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB). The training session was about responding in the event of an aircraft disaster. Although the training was designed for working professionals in law enforcement and fire agencies, airport operations, hospital personnel and psychologists, the group of CSFS students was able to join in.
