Social Work Matters

Hosted by faculty from the Master of Social Work program at the California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP) at Alliant International University, Social Work Matters aims to strengthen the social fabric of our communities through candid conversations about contemporary societal challenges and the role of social work in various settings.

In this Social Work Matters episode, Alliant MSW faculty member Dr. Ayrin Hnosko shares her journey into social work and her specialization in trauma. She discusses the definitions and misconceptions surrounding trauma, emphasizing the difference between complex trauma and PTSD. Dr. Hnosko highlights the impact of trauma on individuals and communities, the challenges faced in trauma work, and the importance of education and support in recovery.
