Hosted by faculty from the Master of Social Work program at the California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP) at Alliant International University, Social Work Matters aims to strengthen the social fabric of our communities through candid conversations about contemporary societal challenges and the role of social work in various settings.
In the premiere episode of Social Work Matters, Alliant International University Master of Social Work Program Director Dr. Megan Hampton discusses the importance of practicum experiences with Alliant MSW Director of Field Education Dr. Sara Strayer and Doran Edwards, a second-year MSW student. They explore the journey of social work practicums, the challenges and rewards of field education, and the support systems in place for students. The conversation highlights the significance of hands-on experience in social work, the variety of practicum sites, and the personal growth that comes from navigating the demands of graduate school while balancing work and life responsibilities.
