School Psychology | Adjunct Professor

Dr. Mary Inzirillo

Biography

As a proud alumna of Alliant University, I am honored to serve as an Adjunct Professor, giving back to the institution that fundamentally shaped my professional identity. For the last eight years, I have served as a practicing school psychologist, and for the past two years, I have had the privilege of translating that frontline experience into the classroom here at Alliant. My mission is to bridge the gap between academic theory and the daily realities of the field, ensuring that the next generation of practitioners is prepared to navigate the intricate complexities of modern school systems with confidence and integrity.

My clinical focus is centered on the vital intersection of school-based mental health and the necessity of home, school, and community collaboration. I am passionate about building the communicative bridges required to support the “”whole child.”” Furthermore, I am deeply committed to the practice of legally defensible assessments. I emphasize the importance of clinical rigor and data integrity, not merely for compliance, but as a moral imperative to ensure every evaluation serves as a high quality, accurate roadmap for a student’s unique educational journey.

Beyond the K-12 setting, I have a dedicated interest in the long term trajectory of my students. I am particularly passionate about supporting students with disabilities during post secondary transitions, ensuring they have the advocacy skills and resources necessary for success after high school. As a first-generation college student myself, I hold a special interest in mentoring those navigating the path to higher education. My approach is further grounded by my life as a mother of two, which provides a unique layer of empathy for the family-school dynamic. I strive to foster a learning environment that balances professional excellence with a deeply human-centered approach to supporting children, families, and future colleagues.
