dr. denver j. fowler
Biography

Dr. Denver J. Fowler currently serves as Dean of the California School of Education and Professor of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies.  Prior to his Dean appointment at Alliant International University (AIU), spanning over a decade, Dr. Fowler served in numerous leadership roles within the higher education setting including service as an Interim Dean, Associate Dean, Department Chair, Doctoral Program Chair, and Graduate Program Coordinator.  Prior to his appointment of Professor at AIU, as a faculty member, also spanning over a decade, Dr. Fowler served as an Adjunct, Assistant, and Associate Professor (Tenure granted in 2020) of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies.  Prior to matriculating into the higher education setting, Dr. Fowler served for over a decade in the PreK-12 educational setting as a school administrator, technology coordinator, athletic director, and teacher (Tenure granted in 2010).  During his tenure in the PreK-12 educational setting, Dr. Fowler was named the Ohio Association of Secondary School Administrators and National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) Assistant Principal of the Year (APOY) in the state of Ohio and nominated for the NASSP APOY in the United States.  To this day, Dr. Fowler remains a licensed superintendent, principal, and teacher in the states of California, Ohio, Connecticut, and Florida.  

Professional Interests

Dr. Fowler's research is focused on the superintendency.  More specifically, Dr. Fowler is interested in how the ethical leadership perspectives of school leaders (district and state superintendents) vary according to leader demographics and school district/state education characteristics.  

Dr. Fowler has presented his research across the nation and around the globe with notable international presentations in England, Greece, Spain, Turkey, Africa, Puerto Rico, China, and Italy.
