Educator Quality Commitment Grant
Simplifying How You Earn (and Pay For) Your Teaching Credential and Master’s
Alliant University’s preparation of exceptional educators begins with a commitment to quality.
Our Teaching Credential and Master of Education (MAE) programs have recently earned renewed accreditation from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC), an important recognition that affirms the strength, rigor, and effectiveness of Alliant’s educator preparation programs in meeting the CTC standards.
To celebrate this milestone and simplify our approach to high-quality teacher education, Alliant is proud to introduce the Educator Quality Commitment Grant. Here’s how it works:
- We’ve intentionally structured our Teaching Credential and MAE courses to largely overlap. This means you only need two or three post-credential courses to earn your MAE.
- We’ve structured the grant the same way: Eligible students can earn both a teaching credential and MAE degree for the tuition cost of the credential alone.
Available for eligible students who start Alliant classes during Teacher Appreciation Month this May, this grant makes it easier for aspiring educators like you to pursue an advanced degree from a CTC-accredited institution committed to excellence in teacher preparation.
Take your next step now: Apply to Alliant, sign your enrollment agreement, and register for the grant. Read on for more grant details, or connect with an admissions counselor with any questions.
Grant FAQs
How much funding does the grant provide?
Funds for the Educator Quality Commitment Grant are distributed in four installments over the course of your first four terms at Alliant, enabling you to earn both your teaching credential and MAE degree for the same tuition cost as your credential alone.
The amount awarded in each installment varies depending on your program of study:
- Single or Multiple Subject Preliminary Teaching Credential + MAE: Grant recipients will receive funds in 4 consecutive installments of $1,857, disbursed over the first four terms of enrollment. Funds will be applied directly to tuition and fees at Alliant University. No funds will be distributed directly to students. The total award amount is $7,428, calculated at the 2025–2026 teaching credential unit rate of $825 per unit for 9 required units (three 3-unit master’s courses).
- Education Specialist Preliminary Teaching Credential + MAE: Grant recipients will receive funds in 4 consecutive installments of $1,238, disbursed over the first four terms of enrollment. Funds will be applied directly to tuition and fees at Alliant University. No funds will be distributed directly to students. Grant recipients will receive a total of $4,952, calculated at the 2025–2026 rate of $825 per unit for the six required units (two 3-unit MAE courses).

Why does CTC accreditation matter?
When choosing a teaching credential program, accreditation is one of the most important indicators of quality. Alliant’s renewed accreditation from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) confirms that our programs:
- Meet rigorous standards for teacher preparation and curriculum quality.
- Provide meaningful clinical and classroom-based training experiences.
- Prepare graduates to succeed in real-world classroom environments.
- Maintain a continuous commitment to program improvement and student outcomes.
CTC accreditation reflects Alliant’s ongoing investment in developing educators who are prepared to support diverse learners and meet the evolving needs of today’s schools. Our Educator Quality Commitment Grant ensures that more aspiring educators like you can access this level of preparation.
Who is not eligible for the grant?
- Students who have previously submitted an application for an Alliant Teaching Credential + MAE program.
- Students who are currently or were previously enrolled in any Alliant master’s or credential programs.
- Any student who receives Preferred Pricing tuition reductions, Alliant tuition waivers, or any Alliant-issued scholarships or grants. It also cannot be combined with any other School of Education grant for the May 2026 term.
Could I lose eligibility after starting my Alliant program?
- Students are required to be continuously enrolled. If a student disenrolls, they will forfeit the remainder of the award.
- Students who lose eligibility due to extenuating circumstances may apply for reinstatement. However, approval is not guaranteed, and decisions are not subject to appeal.
I still have questions before I’m ready to apply. How can I get more information?
