Clinical Psychology PhD San Diego

A SCHOLAR-PRACTITIONER MODEL

The APA-accredited* Clinical Psychology PhD program on the San Diego campus of Alliant International University follows a scholar-practitioner model, integrating research and scholarship with real-world training. Our program prepares students for both clinical practice and clinical research careers.

We are committed to producing professional psychologists with an appreciation for the social significance of their work and the knowledge, skill and attitudes to be effective, ethical practitioners with a variety of groups in multiple settings.

CUSTOMIZE YOUR CURRICULUM

The San Diego PhD curriculum provides a strong, broad-based clinical program. In addition, students may elect an area of emphasis through their choice of electives, training site, research projects and their dissertation topic.

PROGRAM DURATION

The minimum amount of time needed to complete all PhD coursework and internship is five years. Virtually all students complete their PhD coursework in four years, leaving the fifth year for a fulltime internship and completion of the dissertation.

ACCREDITATION

The CSPP San Diego Clinical Psychology PhD program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of the American Psychological Association (APA), which requires that we provide data on time to completion, program costs, internships, attrition and licensure.
