Alliant’s Fast-Track Master of Arts in Education (MAEd) in School Counseling Program can accelerate your degree, potentially saving you time and tuition on your journey of becoming a school counselor.

Alliant’s Master’s in School Counseling Program equips graduates with the knowledge, skills and experience to counsel children of all ages in a school environment. This Fast-Track Program is designed for undergraduates who seek to enrich students’ learning experiences and provide individual student counseling in a variety of school settings.

How the Fast-Track School Counseling Program Works

In the Fast-Track School Counseling Program, an undergraduate may have the opportunity to receive credits toward their Master’s Degree if he or she:

  • is in the final semester of their undergraduate program
  • wants to pursue a career in counseling, psychology, sociology, education, child development, teaching or social work
  • has a GPA of at least 3.0

Students may complete three bridge courses during their final semester that will count toward both their undergraduate and graduate degrees. These courses save students tuition–they are billed at the undergraduate rate–and time, as they may decrease the number of semesters required for graduation.

The Fast-Track MAEd in School Counseling Program is currently available to undergraduate students in the following programs:

Bridge School Counseling Courses

The bridge courses that will contribute toward students’ Masters of School Counseling Programs include:

  • PPS 6009 – Child through Adolescent Development: Biological, Behavior, Cognitive
  • PPS 6010 – Multicultural Children, Adolescents and Their Families
  • PPS 6016 – History, Trends, Legal and Ethical Issues in Schools and Support Services
