ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS                                 

  • Application - Apply now online
  • Master's degree in TESOL, English, Education, Applied Linguistics or a related field
  • A minimum of two years of teaching experience, preferably in ESL/EFL
  • Interview
  • Two letters of recommendation from supervisors, academic instructors, volunteer coordinators or other professional and/or academic relationships
  • 5-7 page personal essay including autobiographical statement, professional aspirations, accomplishments and any relevant experience
  • Official undergraduate and graduate transcripts from a regionally-accredited university (degrees in progress are acceptable) with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (GPA exemptions may be granted)
  • TESOL Writing and Critical Analysis Test
  • $65 application fee
  • International students: Please review Alliant's additional admission requirements for international applicants. A Graduate English Communications co-requisite course may apply for applicants whose native language is not English.
