Master of Arts in Education in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL)

There exists no barrier as strong as language. Those who bridge the gap of communication have leapt far beyond the mere translation of words, and into the mutual understanding of worlds.

Here at Alliant International University, the desire to break barriers is in our name. And the Master’s in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) program from the California School of Education is designed to help you do just that.

Through coursework in second language reading, writing, and teaching methods, you will open the gates to understanding how to effectively teach a language. Linguistic principles dictate the reason behind the language, while cross-cultural competencies tell you the reasons behind the struggle. The experience of the MAE in TESOL faculty offers a unique insight into the universe of second language learning, while hands-on practica give you an opportunity to mold it yourself.

Our international student community is on the forefront of breaking down the barriers in communication, spanning the globe in their effort to meet the needs of 1.5 billion English language learners all over the world.

Your Path, Your Plan

Higher education has a higher calling: to open doors once closed. But the path to get there doesn’t have to go in the same direction for everyone. At Alliant, the path is your choice.

Choose between a fully online TESOL degree program and on-site evening classes. The Masters in TESOL online program doesn’t demand that you be online at specific times, while the evening courses, offered at our San Diego, California campus, are designed with the busy professional in mind.

Choose between taking one course per term or two courses per term and each term lasts eight weeks. The number of courses taken per term can be adjusted, which gives you flexibility, in case life gets in the way.
