Autism Certification for California Special Education Teachers
“Sometimes it is the people no one can imagine anything of, who do the things no one can imagine.”
Alan Turing, Founder of Computer Science
Within the spectrum of autism, there are thousands of different discoveries to be made – each with a different face, height, size, and age. They have different smiles, different eyes, and very different needs.
At Alliant International University, we have a focus on “different.” As a special education teacher, so do you. So we’ve created something especially for you: the Autism Spectrum Disorders Added Authorization Certificate (ASDAA) from the California School of Education.
With this ASDAA program, you will have direct approval by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC) to evaluate autistic students. You will determine when and how to intervene. And with your education and professional experience, you will be able to apply tried-and-true methods in a way that uniquely works for your students.
You will do all of this because you know that what was once considered a societal sentence is now seen from the lens of hope. What was once thought of as only a terrible burden is now a gift waiting to be opened. And once expectations are finally forgotten, potential will always be found.
Help Them Help Themselves, Now.
According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), more than 10,000 babies are born each day in America. Autism strikes roughly one out of every 68 of these kids. Simply put, autism doesn’t wait. And neither should you.
Alliant’s certification program for current special education teachers can be completed within four, 8-week sessions, in an accommodating, fully-online format. In this program, you’ll learn to assess, instruct, and strategize on how to best help students on the autism spectrum.
The teaching portfolio is more than just a demonstration of your professional experience. It serves as evidence of your effort to learn in the field. You’ll get six weeks after the workshop to put it together. When it’s approved, so is your recommendation of certification. Then it’s up to you to take what you have learned and act upon it.
A Certification in Service
Autism is a complex condition. It takes a solid education to begin to understand the nuances of this illuminating and vexing disorder. Alliant provides practitioners with a curriculum that is not only authorized by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing, but satisfies all CCTC requirements.
When you complete the Autism Certification program, you will get an Autism Spectrum Disorders Added Authorization (ASDAA) recommendation as a California Special Education teacher – and a portfolio to prove it.
