Shirley Baker, Ed.D., Associate Professor, System Director for Educational Leadership and Management
An alum of Alliant’s ELM Ed. D. program. She served as a Fulbright Senior Scholar and Senior Specialist for institutional development and teacher education for universities in Laos and Indonesia. Dr. Baker provided Fulbright Teaching Assistants (ETA) pre-orientation training for ETAs teaching in Vietnam, Macau, Mongolia, and Indonesia. She was Alliant’s Director for the TESOL MA online program and Co-Director for the Northern California CTEL Certificate. Previously she was the Director for International Programs at Carroll College, Montana and held a management position in the United States Embassy, Burma (Myanmar).
Joseph Adwere-Boamah, Ph.D., Professor
A veteran educational leader and educator. He was previously Assistant Superintendent of Planning, Research and Policy Development with Oakland Unified School District, as well as a fellow of the U.S. Department of Education, National Center of Educational Statistics. He received his Ph.D. in Higher Education from the University of California at Berkeley, and completed a post-doctoral fellowship in Quantitative Methods and Educational Planning. Dr. Adwere-Boamah is a member of American Statistical Association, American Educational Research Association and American Psychological Association Division 5. He has extensive experience in developing and conducting program assessments and evaluations of educational interventions.
Rick Ansoff, Ph.D., Associate Professor
He received his PhD in Psychology and Statistics and his Master’s degree in Psychology from Georgetown University. Dr. Ansoff teaches courses in statistics, measurement, research methods, and general and personality psychology, and has published papers examining the nature of human agency in physiological and theoretical psychology.
Ron Travenick, Ed.D., Adjunct Faculty
alum of the Alliant’s ELM program, is a favored professor as he brings experience based on his executive position at Ohlone College. He has administration expertise and a strong teaching background that makes his contributions to the program relevant and critical. Dr. Travenick is an exceptional mentor and educator.
Dr. Lisa J. Waits, Ed.D., Adjunct Faculty
The Dean of Student Services at Touro University California. Dr. Waits has thirty years of progressively responsible leadership experiences in student services and college administration at both public and private four-year institutions and in California community colleges. She has held the positions of Vice President of Student Services, Provost of Student Services, Dean of Student Services, Dean of Enrollment Management, Director of Campus Activities, Assistant Director of Student Activities, Residence Dean, and Professor at Ohlone College, Mills College, Mendocino College and Interim Superintendent/President of Solano Community College and Vice President Student Services at Solano Community College. She earned an EdD in Organization and Leadership from the University of San Francisco.
