The Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) is an intensive and innovative degree program that establishes a strong foundation in hotel management, leadership, operations, and entrepreneurship. In partnership with Vatel USA, the BSHM appeals to students who want a solid academic foundation plus practical experience in the hospitality industry in Southern California.

World-Class Experience
Our partnership with Vatel, the first worldwide business school group in hospitality and tourism management, gives students the opportunity to study with peers from around the world and the chance to intern with top-flight hotels.
Three-year Program
Students who take full time courses each term can complete the program in three years and start their practical training in their fourth year.
Integrated Training
Courses have integrated practical training for students to gain experience in the hospitality industry in areas including hotel operations, food and beverage operations, supervision, and management.
Degree Information
Students in the BS in Hospitality Management program acquire knowledge and skills in hospitality management ranging from understanding food and beverage and guest service operations, to learning how to analyze a profit and loss, roll out a marketing strategy, organize a commercial event, and recruit a talented workforce.
With many of the faculty actively working in the hospitality field, each and every student in the BS in Hospitality Management program receives the best academic and personal-growth experience possible, so that they can become the next generation of professionals making an impact in the hospitality industry and in their own communities.
With experienced faculty and small class sizes, students receive the individual support and preparation they need to turn their experience into expertise and achieve excellence.
Also, students in this program will take three Fast Track courses from the MBA program. If they decide to continue to the MBA program (with HM concentration or without HM concentration), they can transfer these three courses to that program if they receive a B grade or above in these three Fast Track courses.

What kind of job can I expect to get with the BS in Hospitality Management?
As would be expected, most graduates of the BS in Hospitality Management Degree Program ultimately find work in the hospitality field. And while you may think this just means hotel management, there are other settings in which this degree is easily applied, such as Revenue Management and Convention Service Management—two important and oft-related careers adjacent to the more-commonly considered hotel management positions.

When does the BS in Hospitality Management degree program start?
There are two enrollment periods for the Hospitality Management program which begin in August (T2) and January (T4). The program is offered in an eight-week term format. You can find a copy of our eight-week term academic calendar here.

How long does it take to complete the BS in Hospitality Management degree program?
The BS in Hospitality Management degree program is a 51-credit program, and can be completed in three or four years.

How will I go about learning the specifics of Hospitality Management?
One important aspect of this program is that the hospitality courses are spread throughout the program. That means students will be taking their hospitality management courses during their first two years along with their general education courses before diving headlong into the highly-specific courses that make up the final two years of the program.
