Position Description
The successful candidate must be a generalist with significant interest and experience working with a college population. This person must have experience working with a diverse student population and have awareness of multicultural issues as it pertains to a university setting. Responsibilities include 1) clinical assessment and intervention, 2) supervision and training of graduate students, and 3) prevention and outreach programming. Clinical duties include brief individual psychotherapy and counseling, group psychotherapy, clinical assessment, crisis intervention, consultation, and referral. Training duties include supervision of a variety of clinical activities and involvement in a multidisciplinary training program. Outreach duties are focused on addressing the mental health needs and developmental issues relevant to the college age population. The professional in this position will provide consultation to university administrators, faculty, staff, campus organizations and parents. Continuing education and professional development activities are expected. This individual may serve as coordinator of a specific center programming area or as designated liaison to campus groups and may serve on committees and task groups. This person may also initiate involuntary examination procedures as allowed by law.

Minimum Qualifications
A doctorate in psychology from an accredited college or university, which includes one year of supervised internship experience in professional psychology; or
licensure as a psychologist by the State of Florida in accordance with Chapter 490,F.S.* Note: the applicant’s doctoral program must be accredited by the agency
designated by the U.S. Dept. of Education, currently the American Psychological Association (required for Florida licensure).

Desired Qualifications
Preferences: Experience in University Counseling Center work is preferred, including initial assessments and brief therapy, crisis intervention, group therapy, supervision and training, outreach and community interventions as well as experience working with collaborative partner’s on-campus. Additionally, it is preferred that the candidate have completed their postdoctoral hours and be near licensure.

Experience in one of the following is also desired:
1. Interest and expertise in working with ethnic minorities (including African-American, Latino, Asian-American and Native American students).
2. Interest and expertise in working with students with disabilities, including physical, social and developmental (including autism-spectrum disorders).
3. Interest and expertise in Eating Disorders (ED) or Substance Abuse (SA) and working collaboratively as a member of the ED or SA treatment team.
4. Interest and expertise in working with trauma and sexual violence
5. Interest and expertise in research and psychological assessment
