Open Position for Term Faculty in Counseling Psychology

Candidates are invited to apply for the position of Term (visiting) Faculty in the Marriage and Family
Therapy (MFT) program in the Department of Counseling Psychology (CPY) to begin August 2014.
The Department prepares Masters-level practitioners in MFT and in School Counseling. The
position is for a term faculty member (assistant or associate professor) for one or two years.
Responsibilities include teaching a variety of courses in the MFT program, and may include some
teaching in School Counseling as well; advising students; contributing to program development,
including development and administration of the MFT program at USF’s branch campuses; and
contributing to School of Education and university initiatives and mission.
Qualifications include an earned doctorate in Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or a
related field; significant practical clinical experience in serving adults, youth, and families, preferably
in underserved communities; demonstrated commitment to multiculturalism and social justice as
well as an ability to integrate issues related to culture, equity, privilege, and oppression into teaching;
higher education teaching experience or potential; and excellent communication and interpersonal
skills. Preferred qualifications include interest in and relevant experiences for program development.
