Sensory Tools for Mental Health Event
On Saturday, September 26, 2015, the Art Therapy Club at CSPP will be holding an event at Alliant Los Angeles titled “Sensory Tools for Mental Health Professionals: Occupational Therapy Perspectives.”
This workshop is a sensory experience. Several sensory tools and techniques will be explored including bean bag tapping, weighted blankets, aromatherapy, sounds, art, yoga and movement. Participants will learn about their own sensory preferences and take away a sensory toolkit that can be used to manage stress, regulate emotions and experience more joy on a daily basis. Special guest Aimee Levine-Dickman will be presenting.

She has a private practice in Los Angeles and work at UCLA’s neuropsychiatric hospital where she created the Trauma Informed Care Sensory Program. Her 25 years of experience as a bodyworker and yoga instructor, as well as an early career as a Broadway dancer influences her work.
