Psychologist Positions at Tampa VA – Florida
The James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital in Tampa, Florida is recruiting psychologists to work in our Tampa, Lakeland, and New Port Richey Outpatient Mental Health Clinics. Primary responsibilities will include assessment and individual and group psychotherapy. These are generalist positions which require a breadth of experience assessing and treating the full gamut of mental health disorders. Training and experience in evidence-based therapies is preferred. Caseloads will include a significant percentage of veterans with PTSD.
The James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital is a 415-bed Level 1A medical center affiliated with the University of South Florida College of Medicine. The incumbent will function as a Clinical Psychologist in the Mental Health & Behavioral Sciences Service (MH&BSS), which is a large, complex organization consisting of the following components: Post-Traumatic Stress Disorders Program, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Programs, Inpatient Psychiatry, TBI/Polytrauma/Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Services Mental Health Services, Chronic Rehabilitation Pain Program, Mental Health Intensive Case Management, Domiciliary Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program, Outpatient Psychology, Inpatient Psychology, Mental Health Clinic, Mental Health Primary Care Clinic, and four Community Based Outpatient Clinics. The Psychology Section of the MH&BSS has active APA-accredited predoctoral and postdoctoral training programs that espouse the scientist-practitioner model. The incumbent may have the opportunity to be involved in a range of these training activities.
