The Psychology Department at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children (TSRHC) in Dallas, Texas invites applicants for a one-year post-doctoral fellowship in Pediatric Psychology, combining clinical, educational and research activities. The fellowship offers advanced clinical training in consultation/liaison as part of multidisciplinary clinics, outpatient assessment and therapy, and inpatient pediatric orthopedics including areas related to adjustment to chronic medical conditions, surgery preparation and education, pain management, long-term hospitalization.
Fellows maintain an active outpatient caseload, protected time for licensure preparation, research in areas of interest and a year-long project. Educational opportunities include Orthopaedic Conference, Grand Rounds, Hand Conference, journal club, team rounds and weekly departmental case conferences.
Specific patient populations include, but are not limited to, children with acute, procedural and chronic pain; rare orthopaedic conditions and syndromes; Tuberous Sclerosis Complex and other neurological disorders; Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis and other pediatric rheumatoid conditions. Applicants should have a doctorate from an APA-accredited program and APA-accredited internship experience with a focus on pediatric or child evidence-based intervention. Experience in a hospital setting is preferred. Salary and benefits are competitive. Expected start date is September 2, 2014.
