The Department of Behavioral Sciences at Rush University Medical Center is seeking applicants with an interest in health psychology and obesity/disordered eating for a postdoctoral fellowship in Outpatient Psychotherapy/Behavioral Medicine. The fellow will provide assessment and treatment of psychological disorders as well as behavioral health assessment and intervention in the Outpatient Psychotherapy Clinic located in the beautiful Westgate Building on the Rush campus. The position includes pre-surgical evaluation and treatment of bariatric surgery candidates (gastric bypass/lap band/sleeve gastrectomy) and treatment of emotional, stress, and binge eating and may include work with patients with diabetes, cardiac disease, and kidney transplant donors/recipients as well as general psychotherapy. The position is primarily clinical, but will include obesity-related research as well as didactic opportunities. The program also includes opportunities for teaching psychology residents and medical students. We are a welcoming and collegial group of psychologists with a strong interest in training.
Applicants should be recent graduates of an APA-accredited clinical psychology program, have completed an APA-accredited internship, and have a strong background in cognitive behavioral therapy, health psychology, and obesity treatment. The salary and benefits package is competitive. Starting date: July 1st-July 15th preferred.
