Utilizing Moustakas’ (1990) heuristic methodology, she explored the experience of stress of paramedic supervisors working within a fire-‐based organization. As she wrote, “Despite the increasing interest in understanding the effects of repeated exposure to traumatic events among emergency responders, those who supervise them have received little attention in the literature.” Her study conveys the pain and suffering such supervisors experience as a matter of daily work. As a partner in a consultant group, her focus is to assist organizations to operate as effectively as possible by integrating the organization’s mission and goals with the needs of the employees.
