Little Company of Mary Hospital at San Pedro
Little Company of Mary Hospital at San Pedro is offering a Post Doctoral Fellowship to begin September 2014 and end August 2015. The position is based on the physical rehabilitation unit of this CARF accredited, community based hospital which is located outside the port of Los Angeles, California. This is a 20 bed inpatient unit, with follow-up outpatient care also being provided.
Typical duties include neurobehavioral assessment, brief individual psychotherapy, stroke support and cognitive education groups. Consultation with Rehabilitation staff is expected, as are formal neuropsychological assessments as well as personality assessments. Ability to liaison with hospital based medical, psychiatric and SNF units are also available. Supervision of graduate students in Psychology is also part of the responsibilities. Research opportunities exist for motivated Fellows.
Post Doctoral Fellows will be exposed to a wide range of experiences under the supervision of a licensed psychologist. Didactic seminars in neuropsychological assessment are also available at Rancho los Amigos Medical Center. Hours will be accumulated as a licensed psychological assistant in the State of California. At least 80% of Fellow’s time will be spent in direct care.
Minimum requirements include:
1.Completion of internship in Psychology which meets APPIC standards,
2. Doctoral program in Clinical or Rehabilitation Psychology, or closely related field
Position stipend is approximately $30,000 per year, including medical insurance. Fellows will be official employees of Little Company of Mary Hospital system and will not be able to charge for services provided in hospital. LCMSP is an equal opportunity employer.
