The Florida State University’s Division of Student Affairs is seeking an enthusiastic and collaborative professional to provide leadership, coordination, and direction of the University Counseling Center (UCC) serving a student body of over 41,000 students.
We are looking for candidates who enjoy working in a collaborative and collegial environment to plan and implement a comprehensive psychological counseling program. The Director provides oversight for all counseling services, crisis-management, and wellness and special outreach programs; maintains communication links with academic departments and administrators across campus; and provides consultation to campus constituents in mental health matters. The Director provides direction for the Center’s research initiatives which seek to gain better understanding of student needs and assess effectiveness of UCC programs. We are a diverse, multidisciplinary staff representing many theoretical orientations and disciplines (psychology, counseling, social work, and art therapy). Collaboration with other Student Affairs and Academic units to provide mental health and wellness programming is a hallmark of our center. All staff members are encouraged to contribute to the training and supervision of graduate interns. The UCC enjoys the strong support of University administrators.
