Director of the University Counseling Center – University of N. Dakota

University of North Dakota (UND) is in search of a new Director of the University Counseling Center!

Because the Counseling Center has pre-doc interns, UND is requiring the new Director to have an earned doctorate from an APA-accredited PsyD, PhD, Counseling, or Clinical Psychology program.

The Director is responsible for the leadership and effective operation of the Counseling Center which includes overall program direction, the supervision and professional development of 15 full-time staff, three APA pre-doc interns and several graduate practicum trainees, oversight of a $1.1M budget, and ensuring the compliance of the Center with regulatory agencies, state laws, and professional accrediting agencies. Services are preventative, developmental, and remedial, and cover six general areas: individual, couples, and group therapy for psychological issues; career counseling services; substance abuse prevention; testing services; graduate training and supervision; and outreach programming and consultation.

The Director serves as a key member of the Campus Life and Safety Team and, as the senior mental health officer at UND, provides consultation, professional development seminars, and crisis/emergency management support for members of the campus community and with off-campus mental health support services. The Counseling Center is fully accredited by the International Association of Counseling Services, and has worked to establish a progressive set of programs and counseling services.
