Counseling Center Psychologist/Counselor (Temporary Faculty, Instructor Level)


The Counseling Center at Indiana University of Pennsylvania invites applications for a temporary faculty position (AY 2014-2015) to provide a variety of counseling and/or psychological services to IUP undergraduate and graduate students. Salary is competitive.


Qualifications: Masters’ in counseling/clinical psychology, counseling, or social work required; doctorate in counseling/clinical psychology, counseling, or social work by August 2014 preferred; currently licensed or license- eligible in Pennsylvania required. Applicants seeking licensure in Pennsylvania are encouraged to apply. University/College counseling experience and experience and interest in substance use and abuse counseling is preferred. Work with multicultural populations, group work, crisis work and outreach/consultation will strengthen the application. Candidates invited to campus must communicate effectively and perform well during the interview(s). Candidates will be asked to present a case.


Responsibilities: Provide counseling/therapy for undergraduate and graduate students. Provide outreach/consultation for the IUP community and provide limited crisis intervention services for IUP students.  Based upon experience, provide drug and alcohol abuse services for IUP students and coordinate the Counseling Center’s drug and alcohol component. Faculty members have the opportunity to supervise graduate trainees in IUP’s APA accredited Psy.D. program in Clinical Psychology.
