The Public Health Division’s Community Behavioral Health Services (CBHS) is accepting applications for two (2) full-time and one (1) part-time positions at the following locations:

  1. Office of Quality Management (Specialty Area A: General Department-wide Services)
  2. Child, Youth, and Families System of Care (Specialty Area B:  Children’s Services)
  3. Ocean, Mission, Ingleside (O.M.I.) Family Center – part-time, 26 hours/week (Specialty Area A: General Department-wide Services)

SHIFT:  Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5pm.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Under general supervision, the 2574 Clinical Psychologist performs professional clinical psychology duties at various locations in healthcare and mental health programs and is responsible for the following job duties:

  • Perform crisis intervention, neuropsychological assessment, psychodiagnostic examinations, psychotherapy and behavioral management of emotionally disturbed, mentally ill and/or, developmentally disabled children, adults, and/or families, substance abusers and individuals suffering from situation stress, and individuals with neurological impairment;
  • Prepares psychological reports;
  • Provides psychological consultation services to psychiatrists, other physicians, hospital-based interdisciplinary teams, social workers, nurses, teachers, probation officers, judges, referees and allied professional persons;
  • Participates in program evaluation and psychological research;
  • Serves on committees;
  • Supervises psychology trainees.
  • Performs related duties as assigned/required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Specialty A:  General – Department-wide Services:

  1. Possession of a current/valid license in psychology issued by the California Board of Psychology as defined in Chapter 6.6 of the Business and Professions Code; Psychology Licensing Law, Sections 2900-2903, 2914;   OR
  2. Possession of a Ph.D. degree in Clinical Psychology or a doctoral degree deemed equivalent by the Psychology Examining Committee in accordance with Section 2914 of the Psychology Licensing Law; and completion of 1,500 clock hours pre or post-doctoral internship in Clinical Psychology, supervised academically performing psychological examinations, diagnoses, and psychotherapy in a clinic, hospital, correctional institution, rehabilitation or diagnostic center.

Specialty B:  Children’s Services:

  1. Possession of a current/valid license in psychology issued by the California Board of Psychology as defined in Chapter 6.6 of the Business and Professions Code; Psychology Licensing Law, Sections 2900-2903, 2914;   OR 2

  3. Children’s Services Specialty Area:  One (1) year (equivalent to 2,000 hours) of experience (post-doctorate) primarily treating or working with children.
