Alliant Hosts 4th Annual Futureboss Youth Entrepreneurship Competition
The California Foundation Fund will hold its annual Futureboss Program on March 10-12, 2015 at Alliant International University. California Foundation Fund leaders are set to support teen entrepreneurs attending college and learning leadership and business management skills. There were over six hundred applicants this year and only thirty of them were selected. Throughout the week, students will attend lessons taught by professional faculty from Alliant International University’s School of Management. Students will participate in the program’s academic components, develop a viable business idea and turn it into a business plan which will be presented to a panel of judges.
The Futureboss Program, chaired by Ron Morrison, mayor of National City and organized by the Foundation’s youth entrepreneurship community council, is a collaborative effort between Alliant International University, Wells Fargo Bank, the California Foundation Fund, and twenty other local organizations.
“Entrepreneurial education is preparing individuals for a path to success,” said Mayor Morrison. He added, “This program identifies entrepreneurial-minded students through a business and non-profit collaborative. This year marked a new level of engagement for the program, as more than 600 high school seniors applied to compete.”
