Building Resistance to Trauma Event
This Friday, May 22, the Los Angeles California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists will hold an event titled “Building Resistance to Trauma.” Attendees will learn about the Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM) and the Community Resiliency Model (CRM). TRM and CRM are biologically-based treatment interventions based upon current neuroscience. They work with the common physical and emotional responses after a traumatic experience from a biological perspective, and re-frame the traumatic experience from shame and pathology to hope and biology. This event will be hosted by guest speaker Elaine Miller-Karas.
Elaine Miller-Karas is the director/co-founder of the Trauma Resource Institute and co-creator of TRM/CRM. She has given presentations and put on trainings both here and abroad. She practices in Claremont, CA.
