Behavior Therapist

A position is available for a behavior therapist to provide private behavioral intervention for and support to personal care staff of a 19 year-old male with moderate autism in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Most intervention will occur within natural settings during activities of daily living as well as during community outings and family events. Some consultation with the special educator, speech-language pathologist, physical therapist and occupational therapist will also be involved.

The position is for a high-profile family in Beverly Hills.  The family spends 4 to 5 months out of the year in Beverly Hills; the rest of the time is spent divided between their homes in London, Paris and Saudi Arabia.  The  pay $100K per year and it’s 40 hours per week.  There will be travel with the family to Europe and Saudi Arabia with first class accommodations, the position is also live-in.

Duties may include, but are not limited, to:
• Provide direct behavior support to a young adult with autism
• Provide direct skill-building intervention focused on skills related to activities of daily living within natural settings
• Train personal care staff to implement skill-building instructional strategies pertaining to activities of daily living, positive behavior support strategies, and strategies for managing maladaptive behaviors
• Monitor progress using systematic probes of performance and document such
• Provide monthly progress report to the family
• Generate weekly behavior/lesson plans
• Meet weekly with professionals providing the education, communication, and motor-based instruction
• Have regular, systematic meetings with personal care staff to review the client’s progress, provide feedback on
• Be available for meeting with the family as requested
• Maintain documentation
• Cover the duties of the client’s personal assistant for short periods during her absence

Requirements:
Prefer Master’s degree in behavior psychology from an accredited university.
Knowledge of Arabic is useful but not essential.
At least 2 years of experience working with teens with autism
Prefer BCBA
Must have expertise in implementing positive behavior support strategies
Flexibility to adapt programming to meet the individualized learning needs of students
Extremely well organized
Flexible and able to accept others’ perspectives
Excellent communication skills
Encouraging, patient, able to effectively train others in instructional and behavior support strategies
Team player
Willing to travel with the family
Communicates in a professional and respectful manner with parents, behavior analysts/consultants, therapist 
trainers, therapists and clients
Completes daily paperwork and data collection notes in a detailed, accurate, consistent and timely manner
